WORK

Backend Engineer

Apr 2022 - Present

Joined The ML/OPs Team within the Billing Data and Intelligence Org. Developed multiple Microservices, data pipelines, Databases, and cloud deployment projects. Notable accomplishments include:

  • Leading Automation -
    • Lead multiple APIs and microservices projects with CI/CD pipelines for automating processes, tracking procedures, data flow and data quality reporting. Provided data insights and gave transparency to my org. Sought out customer pain points and needs, conducting interviews with our clients when needed
    • Automated tasks such as identifying missing data, tables, attributes, broken views, bad data entries, database to database consistency, and errors in LDMs given to clients.
  • Leading Development –
    • Lead microservice development from conception to production launch. The API was built for tracking and reporting Data quality metrics as well as automating developer tasks within our org.
    • Leveraged and maintained applications such as Gitlab pipelines, Aqua Scan, Kubernetes, Azure, Jenkins, and Cloud databases to ensure smooth, reliable operations of my applications.

Frontend Engineer

Feb 2022 - Apr 2022

Coming from my 3D WebGL experience at Amazon, Rocket Communications brought me on as a Frontend Developer to assist with their upcoming project, Space ACME, a 3D visualization tool. This tool was being developed for the US and UK Space Force to be used for tracking XGEO objects.

  • Leading Performance Improvements - With various 3D visuals and effects in place, the application was bogged down with heavy processing. I figuring out how to remove the need for post-processing, while also implementing a less taxing method for bloom special effects. This reduced application start time and reduced demand on the users GPU from 10% - 30%.
  • Performance Benchmarking - It was difficult to showcase WebGL performance improvements to shareholders. So I developed and implemented tools that allowed developers to snapshot and compare performance numbers during any task. When the tool was turned on, it would show you rendered frames per second and allow snapshots and result comparisons. This allowed us to showcase hard numbers to our shareholders.

Tech Artist

Oct 2018 - Feb 2022

Amazon Marketplace lets customers view special products in AR using their phone. My job was to help enhance the VR product development pipeline. My responsibilities included pioneering new ways to improve efficiency, upkeeping legacy application scripts, and testing new ways to automate pipelines through research, and ML capability testing.

  • Leading Automation -Developed python scripts that synced in with developer tools to automate tasks. This automation involved taking a ML generated 3D package, setting it up within a 3D editing application, and automating the package prep work for it to be uploaded to QA testing. This automation saved around 3 hours of work per 3D Artist each week

Frontend Engineer - Freelance

Nov 2021 - Feb 2022

Eastside Wedding Videography needed greater flexibility for their content and a website they could be proud of. I was the lead developer.

  • Leading Development - Built the website in React to achieve custom interactions. Synced it to Google analytics so they could gather insights on their traffic and customer visit rates. Connected the website to an automated email service that allowed them manual customization on all email marketing with the convenience of a third-party interface. I conducted user interview testing and ensured that the application was designed to appeal to the target audience.

PERSONAL PROJECTS

WebGL Laboratory

Pushing the boundaries of WebGL. I built this project with React, utilizing mouse tracking, engineered shaders, performant rendering methods, reflections, and animations. All of this achieved with the Three.js library. When testing, to complete a sequence, activate the lasers and point them at the battery for a system overload. Concept was loosely based off Zed Run, one of the most successful WebGL games in the market.

AR VIEW

Leveraging Googles AR developer tools, I prepared an iPhone in their 3D editor to be viewed in VR. Scan the QR to activate Google Play VR on your phone, then point the camera at your desk to view the product in VR.
